Pennsylvania painted Windsor settee, late 18th c., retaining an old green surface, 28 1/2'' h., 79'' w. Provenance: Rentschler collection.
Seat - 16 3/4". One piece plank board seat. Green paint is later. It is difficult to tell if there are repairs underneath the paint. The bottoms of several legs have been slightly shaved down to level the piece. Butterfly added to the underside to stabilize an age crack. Sturdy. Provenance: the Rentschler collection, Hamilton, Ohio.
