Pennsylvania painted poplar chest of drawers, ca. 1815, retaining its original red and black decorated surface, 44'' h., 42'' w. A chest by the same decorator was found in Lobachsville, Berks County, and was sold during the Paul Flack collection, Pennypacker Auctions, April 12, 1976, lot 162. Provenance: Private Connecticut collection.
Scattered abrasions. Top has an area of scratched in numbers. Several pulls missing or replaced. A chest by the same decorator was found in Lobachsville (Berks County) and was sold Pennypacker Auctions, The Collection of Paul Flack, 4/12/76, lot 162.
