Dauphin County, Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, dated 1821, inscribed Balle Farne, retaining its original pinwheel and tulip decorated blue panels with an orange swirl surround, 24 1/2" h., 50 1/2" w. Provenance: Ronald Pook Antiques, Downingtown, Pennsylvania, January 1989; The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. George P. Bissell, Jr.
Parts: receipt and photograph from Ronald Pook Antiques dated January 23, 1989. Lock not attached. Puttied patch to case at lock. Overall good condition with expected wear consistent with age and use. Original paint.
