Berks County, Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, dated 1782, retaining its original decoration with baskets of flowers on a blue ground, 28" h., 45 3/4" w. Two chests decorated by the same hand are illustrated in Fabian, The Pennsylvania German Decorated Chest, figs. 113 and 114.
3'' x 3'' knot patch to lid, feet and base molding replaced and losses to drawer face.
