Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, late 18th c., retaining its original decoration, with three potted flower panels on a blue ground, above two drawers and straight bracket feet, 28 1/2" h., 48 1/4" w. A chest by the same hand is illustrated in The Pennsylvania German Decorated Chest, by Fabian, fig. 221.
22" d. Original hardware. Lacking two bails. Cracks to rear foot facings.
