Berks County, Pennsylvania painted pine blanket chest, ca. 1795, having a bold polychromed surface of potted flowers, flanking a flower on a shaped pedestal, all centered by serpentine swag with heart corners, the ends with the same repeated potted flowers, the lid with concentric circles with compass flower, flanking a flower on a shaped pedestal with nice figural wrought iron hinges, 25" h., 48" w. A similar blanket chest from the same hand bearing the name Maria Magdela Dunkelberger was attributed to Windsor Township, Berks County. Condition
