Pennsylvania painted dower chest dated 1798, initialed CAT BEM, the front decorated with two large hearts centering a star and inscribed cartouche over two drawers supported by turned feet, 31 1/2" h., 44 1/2" w.
Feet replaced. Strap hinges replaced with butt hinges. 1" drawer lip repair to left drawer. Sporadic paint loss. 2" wood loss to molding on left side.
