Berks County, Pennsylvania painted pine black unicorn dower chest, ca. 1780, retaining its original decoration, with central panel of rampant unicorns flanked by panels, with horse and riders with a salmon surround, 21" h., 47 1/4" w. Provenance: A Maryland collection, Pook & Pook, Inc.
Depth - 20" (case), 22" (top). Top is locked, no key. Very sturdy. Feet appear original. Base has been reshaped. Paint looks good and original. Provenance: Maryland collection.
