Very fine Pennsylvania inlaid Hepplewhite cherry slant front desk, ca. 1785, the canted lid with an urn of tulips on a mahogany panel, centered by an inlaid band which opens to reveal a heavily inlaid interior with repeated panels, the book door with repeated urn of tulips, the case with four graduated drawers, each banded with an intricate shaped band, the drawers flanked by diamond inlaid stiles, with a sawtooth inlaid apron, all resting on flared French feet, 48 1/2" h., 38 1/2" w. Repaired blowout to lid at lock. Brasses replaced. A few repaired breaks and patches to foot facings.
