Pennsylvania folk art tall case clock, late 19th c., with a musical mechanism turning a detailed, fully carved carousel, enclosed in a carved and grain painted case, 89" h.
Condition
Parts: pendulum. Case is excellent. Paint is a typical faux oak ochre grain decoration. Dial is somewhat worn. Purchased in Pennsylvania by June Stout approx. 25 yrs ago for $20,000. Clock is sturdy. Works are provincial with six tubes. Original label on door. Spells our four tunes that can be played. Swiss musical works. Carosel carved here in PA. Has not worked for years as we picked it up from a clock shop she gave it to over 7 years ago. Old repair to break on left front cornice. We do not guarantee the working condition of clocks.
