Historically important Pennsylvania flying crow pieced friendship quilt, dated 1854, each square inscribed by James Maek in 1854 with calligraphy names Huber, Heimbach, Schaffer, etc., probably made for Abigail Heimbach whose name is centered in red fabric, 97" x 87". Displayed in Colors of Goschenhoppen exhibit and pictured in plate 4. Provenance: Edna Hiestand estate.
Areas of black ink signatures eaten through.
