Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, ca. 1775, the broken arch bonnet with carved floral rosettes flanked by 3 carved flame and turned finials, over a white painted 30-hr works, inscribed "Johonns Murphy Northampton Co.", flanked by 4 turned and fluted three quarter columns, over a case with an arched panel door with fluted quarter columns and a rectangular base flanked by fluted quarter columns, resting on ogee bracket feet, 96 1/2" h.
Condition
Parts: weight, pendulum. Finials restored (middle one is an older replacement, the other two have been repaired at the bases). Touch-up to face. Pads replaced. Patch to one spur. Two new blocks. Age crack to back. Works are original. We do not guarantee the working condition of clocks.
