Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut slant front desk, ca. 1770, the fall front enclosing a fitted interior with serpentine drawers and tombstone panel prospect door, all above four graduated drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns supported by bold ogee bracket feet, 46" h., 38 1/4" w. This piece is an excellent example of the form with its well designed interior, small size, and boldly executed feet. It also remains in excellent condition with its original brass hardware.
