Pennsylvania Chippendale cherry tall case clock, ca. 1780, the white face dial, inscribed John Murphy Northampton with a phase of the moon and calendar mechanism enclosed in a swans neck bonnet with rosettes flanking a keystone, the narrow waist with fluted quarter columns and similar base resting on ogee bracket feet, 93" h. John Murphy was the earliest clockmaker in Allentown and this is one of his finest examples.

Condition

Parts: pendulum, weights, information. Repaired break to one finial. Rosettes probably replaced. Hinges replaced. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.
