Pennsylvania cast iron five-plate stove, made by George Ross at Mary Ann Furnace in York County, Pennsylvania, dated 1766, decorated with hearts and tulips, 24" h., 19 1/2" w., 24 1/2" d. Complete five-plate stoves are very rare. See Mercer, The Bible in Iron. Provenance: Robert Martin, Hanover, Pennsylvania, found disassembled in a house near Spring Grove, Pennsylvania.

Condition

As expected wear and condition consistent with age and use. Provenance: Lots 1 - 55, The Estate of Pastor Frederick S. Weiser, New Oxford, PA.
