Pair of Philadelphia lowback windsor armchairs, ca. 1770, each with early 19th c. sackback addition, outward scrolling arms and turned legs terminating in turnip feet. Descended directly in the Griscom family to the present owner.
#1 - arm supports, one leg, and stretchers are early 19th c. replacements. #2 - 2" loss to crest.
