Pair of Philadelphia Chippendale walnut dining chairs, ca. 1770, each with a cabuchon carved crest over a pierced splat and trapezoidal slip seat with shell carved frame supported by cabriole legs terminating in ball and claw feet.
#1 - 1/8" x 2" patch to rear of splat, 1/4" x 1" patch to rear of splat, 2" patch to shoe, glue blocks replaced, seat replaced, knee returns replaced. #2 - lacking glue blocks, 3/4" x 1/2" patch to ball of foot, seat replaced.
