Pair of New England oil on panel folk portraits, late 18th c., of a husband and wife, 25" x 17 3/4" and 22" x 17 3/4".
Man - bottom frame bolding replaced, a few 1" touched up abrasions to hair, background and shirt (1-1" on man's vest, mostly to background). Woman - vertical age crack to center (from top edge to bottom edge of bonnet, approx. 5 1/2", from bottom edge to top of thistle/rose, approx. 7", crack parallel to others from top of bonnet trim to rose, approx. 10", none of the cracks pass light thru), not cut down, a few small abrasions. Provenance: Minneapolis collection.
