Pair of George II mahogany armchairs, ca. 1740, the serpentine and reeded crest over a pierced and carved vasiform splat, flanked by scrolled arms, over an over-upholstered seat frame supported by cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees terminating in ball and claw feet. #1 - two repaired cracks to splat at top, 3" x 1/2" patch to crest above splat, corner blocks added, one front knee return replaced. #2 - corner blocks added, repaired cracks to left side of splat.
