Pair of English officer's dueling pistols, ca. 1780, approximately .65 caliber, bearing the mark of William Jover of London on lock plates, the barrel flat inscribed LONDON, the lock plate inscribed Jover, with walnut stocks, checkered grips, iron hardware, and silver thumb escutcheons engraved with an armorial finial, 9'' octagonal barrels.
Condition
British proofs on the left flats. Locks with safeties. Very good checkered walnut stocks silver, crescent thumbpieces. Fully functional locks. Purchasers of firearms must comply with all state and federal regulations governing their purchase, registration and transportation.
