Oil on canvas portrait of a noble boy, aged 16 and his Native American companion, holding a bow and quiver and surrounded by two dogs, inscribed lower right, with a coat of arms and an illegible inscription Aetatis 16_, 45" x 34". Provenance: A Delaware collector.
Frame: 51 1/4" x 40 3/4". Relined, modern frame and stretcher, heavy varnish, a five inch repaired tear top right, likely other repairs not visible under varnish. Examined under blacklight.
