Northwest coast carved and painted totem pole, signed verso James Prevost, 9 3/4" h. There was a James Prevost who was a commander on the HMS Portland, he was the Commissioner for Britain in the negotiations to settle the San Juan Island boundary dispute between British Columbia and the United States.
Very good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
