New York sterling silver presentation tankard by Howard & Co., inscribed E.L.R. Jr. from G.B. McC. January 1st 1906, 9 1/2" h., 51.4 ozt. Accompanying this lot is a letter from George B. McClellan (Jr) addressed to Eurgen dated 1916 on Princeton University stationary. George B. McClellan Jr. was the son of the Civil War General and served as mayor of New York from 1904-09.
Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
