New York red and white jacquard coverlet by James Cunningham, the corner blocks inscribed "1841 United We Stand Divided We Fall Washington J Cunningham Weaver. N. Hartford Oneida. Co. N. York", the bottom and top border inscribed "Under This We Prosper", the border with eagles, flowers, and stars, the interior with floral medallions and birds, 91" x 73". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 82 and 83.
Overall very good/excellent with a couple very small areas of loss to red.
