New York Chippendale mahogany games table, ca. 1765, possibly from the workshop of Gilbert Ash, 29 1/4" h., 33 3/4" w. A similar carving known by Gilbert Ash can be found on a side chair in the collection of Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. Another similar carving attributed to Gilbert Ash can be found on a dining table sold at Sotheby's, Collection of Gunston Hall Plantation, January 20, 2002, lot 1084.
