New York Chippendale mahogany armchair, ca. 1775, with a pierced splat and square legs.
36" h., 26" w. (at arms), 15 1/2" h. (seat). Loss to right side of splat. Slip seat replaced. Casters added. Pegs added to knee. Finish washed out on frame and legs. Provenance: The Collection of Captain Hall Jackson Tibbits (1797-1872), Long Island, NY.
