New York Chippendale cherry linen press, late 18th c., with fan carved drawer, 76 1/4" h., 40 1/2" w. An early hand written note affixed to the door details the pieces manufactured in the city of Canandaigua, by a furniture maker recently having moved from Connecticut and made for Phineas Bates. Provenance: The Estate of Pauline Kasserman, Winesburg, Ohio.
17 3/4" d. (overall), 15" d. (shelves). Chip to cornice. Hinges and brasses replaced.
