New London County, Connecticut William & Mary great chair, ca. 1710, with boldly turned finials above three slats and mushroom capped arms, over a rush seat and sausage turned stretchers. A similar chair is discussed in Forman, American Seating Furniture, 1630-1730, plate 126.
