New Jersey red and white jacquard coverlet by Christian Van Nortwic(k), the corner blocks inscribed "Hannah Maria Winter Asbury 1839. C. Van Nortwic Fancy Weaver", the bottom border inscribed "Liberty", the border with leaf and thistle decoration, the interior with floral medallions, 86" x 81". This lot is pictured in Coverlets by Melinda Zongor and Joseph D. Shein, pgs. 60 and 61.
Stains near top edge and a couple other areas. One small repair - 1" long. Overall very good condition.
