New Jersey Queen Anne walnut two-part chest on frame, ca. 1765, the upper section with a cove cornice above a single three-panel drawer, above two small drawers and four long drawers, resting on a base with a pronounced scalloped skirt with volutes, above cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, retaining a fine old finish and original Queen Anne brasses, 75" h., 41" w., 22" d. Provenance: Descended in the Sauterwaite family, Crosswicks, New Jersey to present owner; Dave Stout Auction.

Condition

Original brasses. Missing three bails. Spline added to age crack on both sides. 12" x 1/2" loss to back edge of side. One knee return replaced. Small chip to center drop on apron.
