New Jersey or Maryland Bethlehem star album quilt, mid 19th c., with a central pieced star surrounded by appliqué and trappunto floral baskets, birds, and stylized trees within an oak leaf border, one corner initialed ELW, 111 1/4" x 110 1/2". Purportedly descended in the Cleveland family of New Jersey.
Sporadic stains to front and back, one 9" x 6" stain (does not go through to back), two 2" x 1" stains. One very very small (few mm’s) minor thin spot to one flower in the bouquet. Approx. eight stitches per inch. No other apparent damages or repairs.
