New Jersey Chippendale cherry slant front desk, late 18th c., the fall front enclosing a fitted interior, over a case with 4 drawers supported by ball and claw feet, 46" h., 39 1/4" w. According to family tradition, this desk was brought to and used in the Staats House by Baron Von Steuben.
