New England redware jar, dated 1835, attributed to the pottery of John Duntze, New Haven, Connecticut, inscribed John Dunes keep it 'fore your sake September the first 1835, 6 1/4'' h. This jar is mentioned in Lura Watkins Early New England Potters and their Wares. Provenance: Old Sturbridge Village Museum, Massachusetts.
Restoration to base and rim flakes.
