New England maple candlestand, early 19th c., the oblong top over an unusual square standard, supported by four legs, terminating in spade feet, retaining an old red surface, possibly Dunlap School, 28 3/4'' h., 13 1/2'' w., 18 1/2'' d. Provenance: Bettie Mintz, 1983.
Spline added to age crack in top with a large baton underneath, old nails added to secure legs to base of standard.
