New England Federal maple candlestand, early 19th c., probably Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with a tilting top over a turned standard supported by spider legs with spade feet, 29'' h., 20 1/2'' w.
Nice mellow surface, slight warp to top, nail added to crack in underside of baton, overall very good.
