New England Chippendale mahogany slab table, ca. 1780, probably Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the serpentine marble top resting on a rectangular base, with gadrooned apron, supported by square molded tapering legs, joined by an X stretcher, 31 1/2" h., 37" w. Provenance: Pook & Pook, Inc., June 19, 2009, lot 565.
Overall very good condition. Original marble. Two repaired breaks to fretwork. One side of fretwork probably an early replacement.
