New England banisterback armchair, mid 18th c., with a tulip cutout crest, retaining an old black surface. Provenance: Lilian Coogan.
47 1/2" h. 14 1/2" h. (seat). Later surface. Braces added to back of crest. Crest replaced. Two areas of surface loss to stile at seat. Sturdy. Provenance: The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence H. Skromme, Lancaster, PA.
