Native American Indian birch bark canoe model, late 19th c., in Algonquin style, having painted outer hull with deer and moose decoration on ends, 23" l., 5" h., 5 1/2" w.

Varnish shows age and crackle. Old heavy varnish coat with one small chip to side. Some wear from age and handling. Pattern on both sides has same moose and elk, but pattern along the edge is half circles on one side and a triangle pattern on the other. No apparent cracks to the hull or body.
