Nathaniel S. Finney scrimshaw walrus tusk, ca. 1870, fully engraved with three portraits of the famed Miss Lotta Crabtree, the sensation of American stage. Lotta was known for playing boys roles including Harry Racket. She had the habit of wearing male clothes and smoking cigars as well as "wearing her skirts shorter than was the style". The base is inscribed By N.S. Finney above a floral and leaf border, 15 3/4" h.
Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
