N. P. Ames US Navy 1842 ''Box lock'' model percussion pistol, .54 caliber, the lock inscribed USN 1845 N. P. Ames Springfield Mass., the barrel inscribed USN 1845 RPP, has a strong JL inspector cartouche on the left side of walnut stock, a second cartouche on the left side near barrel and an R stamp on stock just above trigger guard, swivel ramrod, one of approximately 2000 produced, 6'' barrel.
Some light pitting to barrel, minor surface mars on lock plate, very good stock, overall very good condition.
