N. P. Ames Civil War Foot Officer sword and scabbard, with scroll engraved US blade with eagle and shield, panoply of arms decoration, dated 1862 with ADK inspector proof, having a pierced brass hand guard, shark skin wire wrapped grip, leather scabbard, 30 1/4'' blade.
Overall very good condition, two very small losses to shark skin grip, minor surface abrasions to scabbard.
