Montgomery County, Pennsylvania redware standish, dated 1856, inscribed John Mohr, with a dog finial and incised pinwheels on sides, 4 1/2" h., 8 1/4" w. A similar standish signed by William Medinger, father of potter Jacob Medinger, was sold at Pook & Pook, Inc. on April 20, 2007, Lot 153.
Chips to rim of sander. Small chips throughout. Dog lacking tail. Missing inkwell. 1'' chip to base rim. Firing crack to top and right corner.
