Messapian trozella, 5th-4th c. B.C., 10 3/4" h. Provenance: A private Swiss collection, acquired in 1993 and later purchased in 2012 from Apolonia Ancient Art, Colorado. Lot includes relevant paperwork.
7 3/4" h. (w/o handles). Intact. A few small abrasions in surface, the largest being approx. ½”. Provenance: A Pennsylvania estate. All of the ancient art and antiquities in this sale are from the same estate. An ancient art specialist was brought in from New York to assist with authenticating and describing the pieces in the collection.
