Messapian double-spouted askos, 5th-4th c. B.C., 6 1/4" h. Provenance: A private Belgian collection, acquired prior to 1985 and later purchased in 2013 from Treasuregate, Brussels. Lot includes associated paperwork and Netherlands Customs paperwork.
Intact. No apparent damages. Provenance: A Pennsylvania estate.All of the ancient art and antiquities in this sale are from the same estate. An ancient art specialist was brought in from New York to assist with authenticating and describing the pieces in the collection.
