Massive Pennsylvania carved mahogany spread winged eagle, ca. 1870, finely detailed with its talons clasping a cannon, retaining its original varnished surface, 72" w. Provenance: Gifted to the Gettysburg YWCA by Annie and Irene Danner in 1926.
Approx. 9" d. Approx. 19" h. Excellent old surface. Repaired breaks to ankles. Loss to one talon. Could be earlier than 1870. No additional information is available regarding the history of this piece aside from what is included in the description.
