Massachusetts silk and paint on silk allegorical needlework, inscribed Embroidered in the year 1806 by Anne Williams of Taunton Aged 16 years, 19" x 23 1/2". This composition is typical of the few known works by the "Boston limner" and compares to Fig. 81 and Fig. 83 in Ring's Girlhood Embroidery.
Vertical tear to sky. Otherwise in very good condition.
