Massachusetts Pilgrim Century carved oak chest, ca. 1700, probably Hadley area, the lift lid over a case profusely carved with floral decoration, initialed MS, above a single drawer and stile feet, retaining an old red stained surface, 30 1/4" h., 41" w. A similar Massachusetts chest, #74, is pictured in Luther, The Hadley Chest, page 109.
Knobs are replaced. 1/4" x 1" patch to corner of drawer.
