Massachusetts Federal mahogany tall case clock, ca. 1795, the eight-day works signed Luth. Goddard Shrewsbury, the case heavily inlaid with line, paterae and fan inlays, 94 3/4" h. Luther Goddard, born in 1762, was a silversmith, clock and watch maker, and Baptist minister, who was a cousin of Simon Willard.

Condition

Finials replaced. Blocks added to saddle board supports. Flaking to dial. Movement appears original to case. Some minor veneer and inlay repairs. Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition. Provenance: private DE collection.
