Massachusetts Chippendale mahogany oxbow secretary, ca. 1770, the broken arch bonnet with spiral turned finals, over glazed doors, resting on a lower section with fall front, enclosing a shell carved and valanced interior, 93 1/2" h., 40" w. Provenance: The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. George P. Bissell, Jr.
Writing height - 32 1/4" h. Upper section wired. Finials replaced. Repaired breaks to arches. Brasses appear to be original. Some surface imperfections. Repaired breaks to foot facings.
