Massachusetts Arms Co. Maynard breech loading rifle, .40-60 caliber, with checkered walnut stock, the left side of receiver with four line mark, dated 1873, the right side of receiver with three line mark, Vernier tang sight and steel butt plate, 32" octagonal to round barrel. SN #12953 Provenance: The Firearms & Militaria Collection of Robert Spangler Jr., West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Very good overall condition, retaining 40% blue on barrel, some case colors remain on receiver, refinished stocks, rear dovetail has been filled, incorrect space between barrel and receiver, lacking eye piece to sight, peppery bore with strong rifling.
